“Above all, working with the students taught us the value of celebrating small victories, of committing to a task whole-heartedly and of the peace and accomplishment to be found in the garden,” – Jenny.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Global Gardens. Being in the garden and working side by side is the best way to see the true impact of the program. We hope you will join us!

All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer training and complete a background check prior to working with students.

To volunteer please contact us, volunteer@global-gardens.org

Ways to volunteer:

  • Become a consistent volunteer in one of our after school programs, approximately 3pm-5pm.
  • Organize a volunteer day for your company, church group, etc. to help with larger garden projects.
  • Help secure in-kind donations such as plants, seeds, etc.
  • Adopt a Garden! Help with garden tasks such as watering the garden on weekends, mowing, turning compost, etc.

Thanks to our volunteer of the Season, Summer 2016: John Wu

“I decided to volunteer at Global Gardens because it was one of the major forces that shaped my childhood and my lifestyles today. Because of this I gradually came to enjoy helping others instead of myself, and so I came back to enjoy working with those on-site. One of the things I truly enjoyed about volunteering at the program, and being in the program in general, is that it allowed me to do more than just gardening, it also allowed for creative and innovative thinking and construction such as: the plastic bottle greenhouse, the clay oven, and the various projects strewn about the garden.” – John Wu, Union Highschool Senior, and former Global Gardens student.
